The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) and the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) concluded the Energy Threat Analysis Center (ETAC) Strategy Summit and Energy Resilience Building (ERB) Groundbreaking Ceremony at NLR’s South Table Mountain campus with over 100 attendees.

Event Highlights

The Strategy Session on day one gave industry and ETAC government leaders an opportunity to hear keynote presentations from DOE, NLR, and industry leadership, while also providing a platform for panel discussions and collaborative workshops to accelerate innovation, strengthen partnerships, and sustain energy dominance and security.

The ERB Groundbreaking ceremony on day two brought together leaders from government, Congress, industry, National Laboratories, and the private sector to discuss the value in public-private collaboration to secure the grid as the threat landscape becomes increasingly complex for critical infrastructure operators due to the rise of persistent threat actors. The ERB will serve as the future home of the ETAC and will catalyze the program’s impact by expanding operations, capabilities, and partnerships, and mitigate threats to America’s critical energy infrastructure.

“The ETAC’s continued success is a testament to the dedication and strong partnerships that help safeguard our nation’s energy sector,” said DOE Under Secretary Kyle Hausveit. “Energy security is national security. Thanks to the Trump administration, DOE and CESER are tackling the evolving challenges to critical infrastructure through collaboration across government, industry, and the National Labs to produce timely and actionable strategies that protect the energy sector.”

The ETAC, a program within CESER, is a public-private partnership that convenes experts from DOE and the U.S. energy sector to collectively identify, analyze, and mitigate threats to America’s critical energy infrastructure. The ETAC integrates industry data and context with government information to enable collaboration that disrupts threats to the energy sector.

“Under President Trump and Secretary Wright’s leadership, CESER is proud to advance the mission of safeguarding America’s energy infrastructure and restoring our energy dominance through events like ETAC’s Strategy Summit and the ERB Groundbreaking Ceremony,” said CESER Director Andrew McClure. “This facility will significantly catalyze the ETAC’s impact by expanding operations, capabilities, and partnerships, and in turn, disrupt threats to America’s critical energy infrastructure. The ERB provides a dedicated in-person space that enables shoulder-to-shoulder collaboration between the ETAC’s partners that will result in a more resilient grid for hardworking American families and businesses.”
