The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) re-published a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) environmental assessment (EA), including a signed DOE finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the Old Harbor Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 13272-004 (DOE/EA-2323). The EA evaluates the environmental impacts associated with providing potential financial assistance (a cooperative agreement) to The Alutiiq Tribe of Old Harbor in support of construction and operation of the Old Harbor Hydroelectric Project. The project is located in Old Harbor, Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska and would divert water from the East Fork of Mountain Creek to a tributary of Lagoon Creek for hydroelectric generation.
