The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) based on the environmental assessment (EA) for General Matter’s Site Preparation and Licensing Activities in Parcel A of the Paducah Site in McCracken County, Kentucky (DOE/EA-2327). The EA assesses the potential environmental impacts of completing site preparation activities and licensing, constructing, operating, and eventually decommissioning essential radiological and nonradiological auxiliary facilities to support the broader General Matter Paducah Enrichment Facility (GMPEF) project schedule.
