The Navy proposes to commercially dispose of the decommissioned, defueled nuclear-powered cruiser ex-Long Beach. Under the Proposed Action, ex-Long Beach would be transported to a qualified commercial facility to be determined by the acquisition process. Once under contract, the ship would undergo complete disposal by the authorized contractor.
