The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the Georgia Tech Research Corp. at Georgia Institute of Technology (GT, Atlanta, CA) to develop and scale-up a continuous roll-to-roll (R2R) fabrication process for fabrication of membranes that contain graphene oxide (GO), polymers, and polyaromatic dye molecules.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the Georgia Tech Research Corp. at Georgia Institute of Technology (GT, Atlanta, CA) to develop and scale-up a continuous roll-to-roll (R2R) fabrication process for fabrication of membranes that contain graphene oxide (GO), polymers, and polyaromatic dye molecules.

The proposed award activities would include data analysis, modeling, design, and laboratory research, including production, demonstration, and refinement of selected GO molecules. GT (Atlanta, GA) would carry out chemical analysis of effluent streams, materials fabrication and synthesis, membrane fabrication, technoeconomic analysis, and other laboratory bench-scale activities. Mott Corporation (Farmington, CT) would fabricate and test spiral-wound membrane modules. Digested Organics (Plymouth, MI) would evaluate spiral-wound membranes and assist with chemical separations and analyses along with Mott Corporation.
