On May 21, 2026, Department of Energy (DOE) issued emergency DOE Order No. 202-26-25, pursuant to section 202(c) of the Federal Power Act, for Unit 4 at the Wagner Generating Station. The order authorizes PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. (PJM), in coordination with the Talen Energy Corporation, to run Unit 4 at the Wagner Generating Station in Anne Arundel County, Maryland to meet anticipated electricity demand. This order is in effect beginning on May 22, 2026 and continues until August 19, 2026.
