Kings Mountain Lithium Mine Project; Cleveland County, NC

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) issued a Final Environmental Assessment (EA) for Kings Mountain Lithium Mine Project (DOE/EA-2265), which assesses the potential environmental and social impacts of DOE NETL's proposed action to provide funding to Albemarle U.S., Inc.'s (Albemarle's) proposed project - to construct a new, commercial-scale, U.S.-based lithium materials/spodumene mineral processing plant that uses sustainably extracted spodumene minerals from the reopened and expanded mine at Kings Mountain in North Carolina.
