The Control Room of the Future: An Inquiry of Industry NeedsRoom 31 C

Problem: New technologies coming to market, like artificial intelligence (AI), hold great potential for power system operators but must be rigorously vetted for performance and security.

 

Workshop objective: Identify existing activities, capabilities, and gaps to advance control room technologies and determine the need for a collaborative public/private federated test bed that supports the reliable, safe, and scalable integration of AI and emerging technologies into utility operations

  • Black Start Escape Room (Sessions run every 90 minutes, 1 hour in length)
    • It’s the coldest and stormiest night of the year. The roads are closed. No one is around except you and your team. Then the unexpected happened.
