Thomas “Lee” Ashlock is the Associate Administrator for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs for NNSA, responsible for effectively communicating, promoting, and defending the mission, goals, and budget of the agency through proactive outreach and sustained relationship-building with Congress, its committees and staff, as well as engaging with government entities at the state, local, and tribal levels.

With over two decades of experience, Mr. Ashlock is a seasoned legislative strategist and national security policy expert who has shaped defense and nuclear policy at the highest levels of government. He has served as a trusted advisor to senior defense and national security leaders, helping to inform policy decisions across the full spectrum of warfare domains through high-level legislative advocacy and interagency collaboration.

Prior to joining NNSA, Mr. Ashlock served at the Department of Defense in Strategic Affairs for the Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) and in Legislative Affairs at The Joint Staff.

He also brings operational experience as a Master Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician, a combat veteran and served in the 21st EOD Company (Weapons of Mass Destruction), where he supported counter-WMD missions critical to national security. His military service provides him with a deep appreciation for the mission space that NNSA supports every day.

Mr. Ashlock has a master’s degree in political management from The George Washington University.
