Office of Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Department of Energy (DOE) is committed to the principles of equal employment opportunity (EEO) and to a workplace free of unlawful discriminatory practices, harassment, and retaliation.  We will strive to eliminate unlawful discrimination in any aspect of employment and maintain an environment that is free from any form of prohibited discrimination.

The Office of Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity (OCR-EEO) is responsible for overseeing agencywide policies on equal employment opportunity, consistent with federal statutes, federal regulations, and Executive Orders. Equal employment opportunity services and policy guidance reinforce merit-based principles and support DOE’s mission and commitment to excellence.

To initiate an EEO complaint of discrimination, you must first contact an EEO Counselor within 45 calendar days of the alleged discrimination. To initiate the complaint process you must complete an EEO intake form and submit it to the appropriate point of contact.
