Bonneville Power Administration issued a Finding of No Significant Impact based on the environmental assessment for the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge Floodplain Reconnection Project (DOE/EA-2276), which assesses the potential environmental impacts of funding the Kootenai River Floodplain Reconnection Project sponsored by the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho. The proposed restoration action would result in four levee breaches along the Kootenai River, Myrtle Creek, and Deep Creek; vegetation planting to establish new wetland and riparian habitats; and the realignment, raising and reconstruction of two existing roads that cross the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge: the Auto Tour Route (ATR) and Riverside Road.
