DOE's Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) is proposing to provide funding to Diageo America Supply, Inc (Diageo) in support of their project to demonstrate that electrification of industrial heating at two Diageo production facilities located in Shelbyville, Kentucky (KY) and Plainfield, Illinois (IL), is feasible by integrating thermal energy solutions like thermal batteries, electric boilers, heat pumps, heat exchangers, and electric heating systems all powered by renewable electricity generated locally and provided by the grid to meet continuous site heating requirements.
