Johanna Zetterberg leads the Deployment Program for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs. In this role, Ms. Zetterberg oversees the Office’s financial and technical assistance programs, supporting the self determination of federally recognized Tribes to advance their energy goals through planning, project design, and deployment grants.
Previously, Ms. Zetterberg served as the Office’s Chief of Staff, managing mission-critical initiatives and serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership. Prior to that, as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Undersecretary for Energy, Ms. Zetterberg was a key member of the stand-up team that established oversight for energy programs managed by departmental elements across the DOE. Her particular focus was on grid, state, local, and Tribal programs.
A proven leader with nearly two decades of experience, Ms. Zetterberg has consistently driven innovative program design models and partnerships to address the need for affordable and reliable energy systems. She holds a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and a BA from Pomona College. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her family.
