The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) is pleased to recognize the EnergyTech University Prize (EnergyTech UP) selection of student team ECHO Solutions from the University of Houston as the HFTO Bonus Prize finalist. This competition challenges collegiate student teams to develop and present a business plan that leverages National Laboratory-developed or other emerging energy technologies. The ECHO Solutions team was awarded $3,000 and is now eligible to compete in the EnergyTech UP National Pitch Event April 15 alongside 27 other student teams for further prizes, including an additional bonus prize of $22,000 from HFTO.

The National Pitch Event will require competing teams to refine their market analyses and business opportunities during a preliminary stage before advancing to the final pitch stage. Up to three national winners will be selected during the National Pitch Event to share an $80,000 prize pool.
