The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued energy conservation standards for manufactured housing. DOE has postponed the compliance deadline while it considers related enforcement procedures.
DOE has published a Federal Register final rule, delaying the compliance date for certain homes subject to the Department’s energy conservation standards for manufactured housing under 10 CFR part 460. Under this action, the compliance deadline for Tier 2 (multi-segment) homes is extended from July 1, 2025, (as finalized in a final rule published May 30, 2023) to 180 days following the publication of final enforcement procedures. The existing compliance date for Tier 1 homes remains unchanged as 60 days after publication of final enforcement procedures. This finalized the action proposed through a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking published on April 24, 2025. (90 FR 17230)
- The effective date of this rule is July 2, 2025.
