"Basin Electric Power Cooperative (Basin Electric) is applying to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for a Presidential Permit to construct the Tande and Wheelock to Saskatchewan 230-kilovolt (kV) Transmission Project (Project). A Presidential Permit is required for the Project because it will cross the international border between North Dakota and Saskatchewan, Canada. The main body of the application is available at the link below. To request copies of Appendices to the application, please contact electricity.exports@hq.doe.gov.
DOE's Notice of Application does not imply the DOE’s endorsement of the proposed infrastructure, nor does it supersede or replace any other necessary local, state, or federal permits, permissions, or approvals. It serves solely to inform the public of Basin Electric's application and invite feedback to inform DOE’s eventual permit decision."
