March 27, 2023The share of workers that worked at home doubled from 2018 to 2021, while driving alone, carpooling, using public transportation, and walking/bicycling all decreased. Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, there has been a shift toward more people working remotely. It is not certain whether this trend will continue post-pandemic. The dominant mode of transportation to work remains driving alone in a car, truck, or van.

Note: The “Other” category includes taxicab, motorcycle, or other means of transportation.
