Collegiate Wind Competition 2021 Judges

Teams in the 2021 U.S. Department of Energy Collegiate Wind Competition were judged by a panel of wind industry experts in each of the competition’s contests, including the optional Remote Turbine Testing.

In the 2021 competition’s optional Remote Turbine Testing event, teams who were able to build a wind turbine conducted their own turbine testing and presented their results via an informal, unscored, public-facing webinar. This event gave teams the opportunity to present their turbine capabilities and receive the type of judging feedback they would have at an in-person competition.

These experts included:

  • Lee Jay Fingersh, National Renewable Energy Laboratory
  • Srinivas Guntur, Siemans Gamesa Renewable Energy
  • Charles Newcomb, mCloud Corporation

Project Development Contest
