Shari Davenport is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for EERE. In this role, she oversees all operations offices and directly manages the Golden Field Office, the Budget Office, and the Office of Business Services Management. She is also responsible for overseeing EERE’s internal communication efforts and its employee engagement initiative.
Before assuming her current position, Davenport was the Deputy Chief Information Officer for Resources Management for the DOE’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). In this role, Davenport enabled and supported the business and mission of OCIO by effectively overseeing all administrative functions of the office, including budget formulation and execution, IT acquisition strategy development, and contract management. She also managed the enterprise-wide agreement program to leverage DOE’s buying power for IT goods and services and implemented workforce planning initiatives for the Department’s IT workforce.
Davenport also served in a variety of other leadership roles for DOE’s Office of Environmental Management (EM) and Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs (CI). For EM, she held the positions of Acting Associate Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Corporate Services, Deputy Chief, and Director of Communications and External Affairs. For CI, she served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary and Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to joining DOE, Davenport spent more than 8 years working for members of Congress and congressional leadership in advancing their legislative agendas.
Davenport earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of California, Riverside.
