Switch It Up: Pivoting to Provide Support Amid Disruption

Disruption can be a catalyst for growth, and necessity often leads to new solutions. We are spending much more time in close quarters with family members while also dealing with the pressures of work. Opportunities for misunderstanding abound and underscore the importance of dispute resolution skills as we “stumble and bumble” through uncharted territory. Treating each other with grace and mercy is fundamental, and specific skills—both interpersonal and technological—allow us to survive and grow in potential conflict situations. Using “Crucial Accountability – Tools for Resolving Violated Expectations, Broken Commitments, and Bad Behavior” as a foundation, the presentation will highlight three case studies
where individuals pivoted and grew despite (and sometimes because of) the disruption from COVID-19. The lessons learned can provide inspiration to continue pivoting now and
long after the pandemic has subsided.
