- Strategic Partnership Project (SPP): Work done by a Laboratory for businesses and other non-federal entities to perform a defined scope of work on a full-cost recovery basis.
- Cooperative Research And Development Agreements (CRADA): A partnership between one or more Laboratories and non-federal entities to collaborate and share the results of a research and development project.
- Agreements For Commercializing Technology (ACT): A flexible, fast, business-friendly technology transfer tool where Laboratories and a non-federal entity complete a project together.
- Technology Licensing Agreement: Businesses or other non-federal entities license Lab technologies.
- Material Transfer Agreement (MTA): Protects biological materials and tangible research products.
- User Facility Agreements (UFA): Industrial and academic partners may access facilities, specialized equipment, instrumentation, and personnel to conduct research.
- Small Business Research and Development Programs: Small businesses collaborate with Labs as a subcontractor.
