Twice a year, all Site Specific Advisory Board officers from around the country meet in an EMSSAB Chairs conference. They discuss matters relevant to all the sites as a whole and may make recommendations as a body. At the October 2019 EM SSAB Chairs' Meeting in Idaho, the chairs approved a recommendation to DOE regarding the safe transport of nuclear waste material to its permanent disposition.
ORSSAB voted and concurred on the recommendation at its November monthly meeting.
