Office of Budget

The Office of Budget in the Office of Science provides financial management support to the programs in the Office of Science. It is responsible for budget formulation, presentation, defense, and execution of program budgets managed by the Director, Office of Science, and the program Associate Directors to ensure that actions are consistent with the Office of Science, DOE, Office of Management and Budget, and Congressional policies and guidance. The Department of Energy ranks among the top five government research organizations that fund science, and is the nation’s largest supporter of the physical sciences. The Office of Science funds much of this DOE research.
