The proposed action is to remove petroleum hydrocarbons (bunker oil and diesel plus additives) from Well 199-N-18 which are a result of spills in the 1960s and later. The proposed action is to use a passive absorbent method including bilge skimmer assemblies featuring the Smart Sponge technology. The absorbent assemblies would be placed in a well for approximately two months to provide adequate time for removal of petroleum hydrocarbons.
