Sandia National Laboratories/New Mexico (SNL/NM) proposes to perform neutron reflectivity and fluorescence microscopy studies of the structure and activity of the negative factor (Nef) protein from Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) bound to lipid membranes. Some of the proposed work with the recombinant proteins - the neutron reflective (NR) - would be performed at national neutron-scattering user facilities across the country.
