Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant for: An Energy Audit was conducted in 3 buildings - City Hall, Police Station, and Singleton Community Center, with the intent to ensure those buildings more than cover the available funds in the grant. This objective was met in that nearly $500,000 of improvements were identified covering replacement JHVAC units, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) controls, and energy efficient lighting. With the Energy audit now complete, The city has a plan which can be implemented as more funding becomes available and as resources become available. We intend to pursue a 'large ticket' item (city hall HVAC replacement/controls) and supplement it the 'small-ticket' lighting upgrades to maximize the use of the grant funds.
