On June 6, 2016 the Department published a notice of proposed rulemaking to amend its current chronic beryllium disease prevention program, 10 CFR 850. The notice had a 90-day comment period, which ended on September 6, 2016. On July 12-14, 2016, the Department conducted public hearings in Oak Ridge, TN to allow its stakeholders and other interested parties the opportunity to provide their comments and views on the proposed amendments to the rule. The comments received during the comment period will be used in developing a final rule.
