The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is publishing a Final Rule to codify the exemption to energy conservation standards for certain external power supplies (EPSs) made available by a manufacturer as a service or spare part that was established by the EPS Service Parts Act of 2014; DOE is incorporating the provisions of the Service Parts Act into 10 CFR Part 430.32. DOE is also clarifying the clause defining exemptions. Additionally, DOE is amending reporting requirements to require manufacturers to report total number of of exempt EPS units distributed into commerce.
The proposals are procedural in nature and do not impact the environmental effect of the rule.
