The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to the Nevada Department of Administration to construct an electric vehicle (EV) charging station. The proposed project is part of the Nevada Electric Highway Project, and the Nevada Department of Administration, Fleet Services Administration is the sub-recipient and would be responsible for the installation of the charging station. The charging station would be comprised of one pedestal type charger and would be installed in an existing parking lot. The charger would include one dual-port Level 2 Charger.
The charging station would be located in the parking lot of the Richard H. Bryan State Office Building located at 901 S. Stewart Street, Carson City, Nevada. Necessary project activities would include the construction of a concrete pad and the placement of EV charging equipment (pedestal), installation of electrical conduit, trenching and repair of existing concrete curbing and asphalt parking surface, electric panel upgrades and additional electrical enhancements to accommodate the fast charger higher voltage requirements, and necessary lighting and parking striping.
