In this Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) proposes to revise its certification, compliance and enforcement regulations for electric motors and small electric motors to conform to the enforcement regulations for other covered products and to consolidate, to the extent possible, the certification and compliance regulations for electric motors and small electric motors with those for other types of products and equipment.

The proposed changes to the regulations are interpretive and procedural, and do not change the existing energy performance standards.
