George Youabb, Security Specialist for the Livermore Field Office

What are your job responsibilities? How long have you been with NNSA?

Performing Safeguards & Security oversight and related activities in support of national security. I have been with NNSA for the past two years.

What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement?

Becoming a Chief Warrant Officer in the US Army.

Do you belong to any organizations/clubs outside of work?

I belong to the Silicon Valley Security Group, a diverse and inclusive community of security professionals who innovate through collaboration of shared interests to create the future of the security industry. I’m also a member of the American Society for Industrial Security International, which provides education and a global platform for security practitioners, each of whom has a role in the protection of assets - people, property, and information.

What is an accomplishment in your life in which you take great pride?

Obtaining the ASIS Certified Protection Professional designation.

What are your top three goals for your NNSA career

I want to make positive impacts in all programs I encounter; obtain continued personal and professional development in assigned and non-assigned areas to enable support to other topical areas/programs; obtain continued mentorship to enable future success in potential leadership positions.
