The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) was a cooperating agency for the EIS prepared by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The FHWA EIS proposed to construct a new segment of U.S. Highway 93 to reduce congestion and vehicle/pedestrian conflicts where it crosses the Hoover Dam. WAPA proposed modifications to its transmission system and facilities to accommodate the new highway construction and announced in its ROD that it had adopted the EIS.
