The ACHP issued the Program Comment aims to promote actions that, consistent with the National Historic Preservation Act, 54 U.S.C. § 300101(1), advance historic preservation goals including the reuse of historic materials and buildings and the upgrading of infrastructure in historic neighborhoods, and to harmonize historic preservation goals with the nation’s pressing needs to expand access to housing, improve resilience, and offer transportation alternatives.
