The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Loan Programs Office (LPO) issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Convergent Puerto Rico Photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage System Portfolio (DOE/EA-2269). The EA assesses the environmental impacts associated with providing potential financial assistance (a federal loan guarantee) for the construction of one proposed solar photovoltaic installation and four battery energy storage systems in the municipalities of Coamo, Santa Isabel, Peñuelas, Guayanilla, Ponce and Caguas, Puerto Rico. The Finding of No Significant Impact should not be construed as a final decision about issuance of a federal loan.
