The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO) proposes actions that include on-site waste handling and generation, waste reduction, pollution prevention, property transfer of surplus personal property, and asbestos abatement projects at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PGDP). The proposed actions include, but are not limited to, waste minimization, recycling, and reuse, asbestos abatement, all activities under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the removal of concrete building foundations, concrete pits, concrete/asphalt debris, and contaminated soils, and the transfer or disposition of DOE surplus personal property.
