During the re-roofing of building TRA-621 at the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Complex, the out of service fume hood in the facility was determined to be no longer needed and needs to be removed. The proposed action would remove the fume hood, associated ducting, electronics, heaters, high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters, supply and exhaust fans, electrical service, and other materials associated with the fume hood. Project activities would include covering the hole in the ceiling that would be created from removal of the fume hood and associated materials. No other modifications to restore the space after fume hood removal are needed. Aside from removal of ventilation equipment for the fume hood, no other modifications to facility heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) are anticipated. Materials removed from the facility as part of the proposed action would be excessed or disposed according to laboratory procedures.
