The Energy Innovation Laboratory (EIL), building IF-688, has temporary scaffolds installed around the roof top exhaust fans on wings B and C. These scaffolds are needed to perform maintenance on the exhaust fans. The proposed project would replace the temporary scaffolds with permanent access platforms. The temporary scaffolds would be taken apart, removed from the area, and made available for use in other locations. The new platforms would have decking around the exhaust fans, access ladders, and a guard rail system surrounding the deck. Most fabrication of the platform would be done at the subcontractor's shop.
