The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to Sylvatex for the design, development, and testing of a Lithium-Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt Oxide based cathode using the Sylvatex synthesis platform. The project would focus on scaling up the process to greater than 100 grams (from previous research efforts that had been funded by the National Science Foundation) to optimize the synthesis platform for this larger-scale production. The cathode would be tested in batteries and the economic feasibility of the cathodes would be evaluated.
