DOE is proposing to provide funding to Ocean Renewable Power Company to design and demonstrate a commercially viable tidal power system, the TidGen Power System. The proposed project is divided into three Budget Periods, with a Go/No Go decision point between each Budget period. This NEPA review is for Budget Period 1 (BP1) only.
BP1 activities would include seven tasks. The BP1 tasks involve design, engineering, modeling, composite testing, and project management. All BP1 tasks would occur at ORPC office facilities in Portland, ME and other facilities, as necessary, which would be conducting design and testing activities the same as those routinely occurring at those facilities.
