The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Qado Energy, Inc. to provide a unified approach to the interconnection planning and assessment of system reinforcement needs of electric utilities made necessary by the ever-growing levels of distributed energy resources present in the market by including detailed distribution information in a hybrid model for transmission system impact studies.
Proposed activities would include development of the “GridUnity” platform and its subscription offerings and data collection, analysis and modeling, to inform the performance of impact studies. This project would be limited exclusively to intellectual, academic, or analytical activities and would use no physical materials beyond basic office supplies and software.
