The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) to engage with state legislators and legislative staff to advance DOE’s national energy goals, by educating state legislatures on energy efficiency and renewable energy matters comprising technical, financial, regulatory and policy related issues. 

The proposed project activities would include maintaining the Energy Efficiency Policy Online Clearinghouse and Legislative Tracking Database, answering information requests, providing technical assistance, coordinating meetings and webinars, and writing articles and memos. Additionally, NCSL would collaborate with its partners at the National Association of State Energy Officials, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, the National Governors Association and Western Governors’ Association to ensure that a broad range of expertise would be utilized.
