The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Elevate Energy to engage and train several sectors of the real estate industry in order to promote the fair valuation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in the residential real estate market.
Activities associated with the proposed project would include analysis of training needs and requirements of realtors, appraisers and appraiser regulators; the design of training curricula; the development, implementation and marketing of such training; and evaluation and refreshing of the training programs. Training courses for real estate agents and appraisers would be delivered through self-paced, interactive, online courses. Appraiser regulator training would be delivered through live webinars in partnership with the Association of Appraiser Regulatory Officials. The proposed project would use no physical materials beyond basic office supplies and software.
