The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to the Trust for Conservation Innovation on behalf of the Building Codes Assistance Project in order to support the development and dissemination of solar reference materials and training to design professionals in order to identify and eliminate barriers to widespread solar acceptance and to support strong growth in the solar energy sector.
Activities associated with the proposed project would include the development and design of training materials, newsletters and articles and the delivery of 22 trainings and 2 national webinars tailored for design professionals in key metropolitan areas across the U.S. Additionally, a team of trainers will be established and trained to provide support to the long-term sustainability of this training program. The proposed project would use no physical materials beyond basic office supplies and software.
