United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) would utilize DOE and cost share funding to demonstrate a solid state (refrigerant-free), high efficiency, compact, zero direct global warming heat pump with the potential to replace refrigerant-based vapor compression systems. Project work would take place at UTRC’s dedicated research center laboratory facility in Hartford, Connecticut. The heat pump module technology would be advanced from a TRL of 2 to 4.
