The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Pacific International Center for High Technology Research to develop a complete understanding of the Hawaiian market for their low-cost, concentrated, solar power devices. The ultimate goal of Edisun Heliostat’s Project 8 is reduction of dependence on fossil fuels through “round-the-clock” generation, black start capability, capacity, voltage support and frequency response capability.
Edisun Heliostatsis a sub recipient within the PICHTR award, DE-FG36-08GO88146. PICHTR administers the Energy Excelerator Program which has been previously reviewed by NEPA (GFO-GO88146-009, CX A9, A11, B5.1, 3/27/2013).
