The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to The Solar Foundation to expand financing opportunities for commercial solar development on tax-exempt buildings.
The proposed activities include computer-based research and writing, electronic and face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails with solar finance stakeholders and local government officials, as well as coordination efforts with tax-exempt building owners to help facilitate the installation of solar equipment. The proposed project would be limited exclusively to intellectual, academic, or analytical activities and would use no physical materials beyond basic office supplies and software.
