August 13, 2026Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) proposes to fund the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) to replace aging fish weirs and supporting infrastructure at Palisades Creek and Rainey Creek. The weirs serve as selective fish passage barriers that protect Yellowstone cutthroat trout (YCT) spawning habitat—a core component of IDFG’s YCT conservation strategy. These projects would improve operational efficiency and mitigate issues such as scour, sedimentation, and fish mortality.
