Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) proposes to fund the Coeur d'Alene Tribe (CDAT) to implement a stream enhancement project in the upper reaches of Benewah Creek, near river mile 12.5, in Benewah County, Idaho. The project would increase historical floodplain connectivity, reduce sediment inputs from a nearby roadway, increase side channel habitat, and improve native plant communities for the benefit of fish and wildlife species, including westslope cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii)—a focal species for CDAT conservation efforts.
