Equipment and infrastructure will be upgraded during the first 2 years of the project. Three existing combustion units, the Transport Reactor Demonstration Unit (TRDU), the Particulate Test Combustor (PTC), and the Combustion Test Facility (CTF), will be enhanced to produce flue gas continuously at the required rate and composition. Various equipment such as compressors, heat exchangers, gas clean-up systems, and fuel preparation systems will be designed, procured, modified, and/or constructed.
