Funding will support the project team's small-scale research and development of Ultra-Flexible Concrete (UFC) for use with critical energy infrastructure exposed to extreme thermal conditions and structural degradation. Specifically, the project team will (1) develop, test, and validate cold and heat tolerant UFC formulations to meet performance specifications, (2) select formulations for next phase testing and validation, (3) test and validate long-term performance of UFC formulations under use-case conditions in lab, (4) identify UFC formulations for next phase development, and (5) conduct a techno-economic analysis and life cycle assessment.
